Frequently Answered Questions

What ages can participate in the league?  Ans: Our programs start at age 4 and can go up through age 16, enrollment numbers at each age grouping dependent.

When does the rec season begin?  Ans:  The spring season normally begins in early April and runs through Father's Day in June.  Our Fall program starts after Labor Day and normally runs through Halloween.  
How much is it to play rec baseball or softball?  Ans: The prices vary based on age levels.  They generally range from $100 up to $200 per player for each season's registration fee.
What programs does the league offer?  Ans:  We offer baseball, softball and buddy ball
Are uniforms provided?  Ans:  Yes, the registration fee includes a quality henley team shirt and an EB hat.  Baseball or softball pants are not provided, as we do not require their use in rec.  Many players simply wear sweats or obtain their own pant gear at Dick's sporting goods.
What is a work-bond?  Ans:  Each year the league requires a $150 dollar work-bond check, per player, which is returned or destroyed once a parent or designee works a 3 hour support shift at the complex.  We are a full volunteer organization and need the support of parents throughout the year in either the snack bar, or helping with field prep, complex opening and/or closing, special events, etc.  There are numerous opportunities posted throughout the year.
Can I volunteer to coach?  Ans:  Absolutely!  We are always looking for new coaches and are happy to work with you to place you in the approriate setting for success.
How are teams formed?  Ans:  Teams from 4-8 yrs of age are generally divided by the division directors and coaches.  We try to assess skill levels and strive to ensure there's parity amongst the teams in a given age bracket.  Teams 9yrs and above are formed via coaches draft.  At the older ages it is not possible to accommodate player or coach requests.  Buddy Ball has a different approach.  For more information on Buddy Ball, please see the Contact information under 'quick links'.
Are player requests and/or coaches requests honored?  Ans: Generally, we strive to honor all requests, this is only possible below age 9 for most programs.
Does the league provide player equipment?  Ans: The league does provide some basic equipment to coaches.  This includes appropriate age balls, catcher gear at the required ages, moveable bases, training gloves at the youngest ages, and other equipment which may include Tee's.  Individual player helmets, gloves, bats and required saftey gear such as heart guards - are the indivdual families responsibility.  Do not spend alot of money!  Contact any member of the league beforehand, or your child's coach, for specific questions and recommendations.
How many days a week do the teams play?  Ans: Each team will meet either once or twice a week.  More if the coach calls an extra practice.
What days does each division play?  Ans: There are NO set schedules due to the large numbers of registrants.  It is impossible to create a set schedule during the spring rec season.  However, we do our best to create a set schedule during the fall season.
